Hello, I am a solo moonlighting indie dev. I work a full time job and also have a young family, so I don’t have a lot of time to spend on game development, but I try to fit it in whenever I can. It is a very rewarding hobby that I recommend to anyone who has the desire to try it.
I live in the South-Eastern United States, for those not familiar I’ll give a brief overview: Barbeque, banana pudding, fried chicken, red beans and rice, peach cobbler, chicken and dumplings, biscuits with sausage gravy, shrimp and grits… I could go on, but I’m sure you get the point… I love the food down here.
I grew up playing games on the NES, and Gameboy systems and they hold a special place in my heart. I love pixel-art and all things retro. Because of this I decided to make my first few projects have a similar look, because it reminds me of the classics from my youth.
My favorite game series is The Legend of Zelda, the first time I was introduced to Zelda was when I was real young and my parents had taken me to a mom and pop video rental store and let me pick out a game to rent. Looking at the wall of grey NES carts one stood out, it was golden, it was special, it was The Legend of Zelda, and it was groundbreaking. Eventually I want to make games in this style.
Most of my favorite game series are on Nintendo systems, and the Nintendo Switch is my current favorite system to play on, but I enjoy all gaming platforms that offer physical buttons (I oddly don’t enjoy playing games on my phone).
